Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have experience with horses or know how to ride horses?
A: No prior horse experience is needed. All coaching sessions are held on the ground with a horse and there is no horseback riding involved.

Q: I don’t have any horse experience. Is it safe?
A: Our horses are chosen for their ability to do this work. You will learn a lot about horses and their behaviors before you ever interact with them, including how to stay safe. You will practice working with tools that help to set boundaries with your horse and our coaches provide an in-depth safety demonstration prior to your session. Your coach is present the entire time, as is a horse handler. If you still are hesitant, we can create exercises to help boost your confidence, stay at your side during the interaction, or work with a miniature horse or pony first. We will help you create the experience that will provide the learning you seek – inside the pen or out.

Q: Are there any accommodations for the disabled?
A: Yes, accommodations and customized experiences can be created for disabled persons.

Q: Where are sessions held?
A: Unbridled Life Coaching, LLC’s base of operations is at Tri-Brook Equestrian Center, located at 283 Long Swamp Road, New Egypt, NJ. The Center is equipped with multiple round pens and arenas, as well as a large community room, all of which are utilized for preparatory work and the actual sessions.

Q: Can you hold sessions or workshops at my facility?
A: Yes, arrangements can be made to hold workshops or individual coaching sessions at your farm or ranch. You must have a round pen or arena in which to work. For the comfort of your participants, a sheltered area, such as a collapsible tent, indoor arena or covered round pen in the event of inclement weather is preferred.

Q: My company is based overseas and workshop participants do not speak English. Is coaching in other languages available?
A: Yes, our coaches are native speakers in the following languages: German, French, Italian, Dutch, Belgian Dutch/Flemish, and Spanish.

Q: How long does a session last?
A: Individual sessions typically last approximately 3 1/2 hours, with snack and horse breaks. Multiple horses may be used. A full day session is typically 7 hours, with an additional break for lunch. The length of corporate and group/team sessions is dependent on the number of participants, structure, and days involved.

Q: What is the cost of coaching in partnership with horses?
A: Individual coaching prices are as follows.
Coaching in Partnership with Horses First Session (3 Hours) – $350
Follow Up Coaching in Partnership with Horses (1.5 Hours) – $125
Full Day Coaching in Partnership with Horses for 2 (7 Hours) – $750
Six 90-Minute Coaching in Partnership with Horses – $600
Corporate, group and team pricing is negotiated based upon the number of participants, structure and days involved.

Q: Can I split a session with a friend?
A: A full day session can be split between two people.

Q: What do I need to bring to my session or workshop?
A: Please wear closed toed shoes or preferably, boots. Dress appropriately for the weather. The farm can be windy, so an extra coat or sweatshirt in cooler weather is appropriate, as is a hat and sunscreen during sunny days. We supply water, healthy snacks, and lunch for longer sessions.

Q: I don’t drive. Is there transportation available?
A: Yes, transportation can be made available to and from train stations and airports. For Corporate, group and team workshops, transportation and lodging can be arranged.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We prefer that if you need to cancel your individual session, you do so 48 hours in advance. Because we make arrangements for horse handlers and extra help well in advance, we would appreciate you canceling or providing notice that you may need to cancel far in advance of doing so. Our handlers and hired staff hold us to a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning that if you cancel within that 24-hour time frame, they will still need to be paid, therefore you will be charged for the full session. If there is a true emergency, we may be able to apply a portion of what you paid to a future session.

Q: What is your privacy policy?
A: What arises in individual sessions is held in the strictest confidence. To get the most out of your sessions, we want you to be honest and authentic so that you have the best possible outcome. In order to do so, we must assure you that your name or circumstances will never be used, nor will your photograph be displayed or spoken of in any of our materials without your express permission. The same policy is applied to our Corporate and Group/Team interactions.

Q: Are the horses cared for appropriately so that they don’t become stressed?
A: Yes, your Coaches rotate horses so no one horse is overused or is subjected to excessive stress. How frequently they work is dependent on the intensity of prior sessions and their willingness to continue. We are highly cognitive of the horses’ sensitivity to human emotions. Our on-site horses are beloved family members; we take exceptional care to ensure that they are physically and emotionally capable of partnering with us to help humans.
